Rihanna recently opened up about her love life improving, musical inspirations and desires for a family in an interview with comedian turned talk show host Ellen DeGeneres.

Rihanna, 24-year-old Barbadian pop star, appeared on DeGeneres' show last year where she spoke about her love and sex life being nonexistent. The outspoken singer updated DeGeneres on her romantic life this week, revealing that things have changed.

The singer giggled while speaking about the topic to DeGeneres, but seemed more serious when speaking about the possibility of having children in the near future. When DeGeneres inquired about Rihanna's desire to have children the singer responded, "Yes, eventually. I mean absolutely."

While Rihanna said she believed that she had the ability to be a single parent, she did express a desire to have a complete family.

"I would prefer to, you know, have a full family," the singer said. "I'm pretty sure I could handle if I had to on my own but that's not what I'm striving for."

Aside from her hopes for love and a family, Rihanna revealed some of her past and present musical inspirations to the talk show host.

"I remember looking up to Mariah Carey the most, I identified with her the most in so many ways," the singer told DeGeneres. "She was biracial, she was also young and I remember just hearing her story and really just being connected to it."

However, the Barbadian chart-topping recording artist has now broadened her musical interests.

"When I moved to America I started listening to pop music and rock music and all these different bands. Artists that I never knew about from the 80s and 70s and it's really cool," she said. "There's so much music out there. Now I draw inspiration from everything."
