Rihanna Tour Bus Cited for Marijuana

A member of Rihanna's entourage was cited for marijuana use Wednesday when multiple vehicles traveling for the 25-year-old singer's tour were searched while crossing into Detroit.

A dog was reportedly brought onto the scene to aid in a search for drugs after an investigator smelled marijuana, according to TMZ reports. After a small amount of the substance was found on a tour bus where Rihanna was not present, a male member of the Barbadian singer's entourage was cited with a civil infraction.

Kris Grogan, a spokesman for U.S. Customs and Border Protection, detailed what took place on the scene involving the singer's entourage while maintaining that she was not on the scene.

"One of our border protection officers referred the caravan for inspection due to a strong odor of marijuana," Gorgan told The New York Daily News. "The canine did alert on quite a few of the buses, but it was only that small amount found."

Rihanna recently performed shows in Toronto, Canada on Monday and Tuesday before heading to Detroit's Joe Louis Arena for a show scheduled Thursday night. Although marijuana is an illegal substance in the United States and she was not present on the scene, the singer has been vocal about her desire to smoke weed.

The singer who spends much of her leisure time posting pictures smoking pot on Instagram spoke about her reason for doing so in Elle magazine.

"I instagram everything about my life, whether it's smoking pot, in a strip club, reading a Bible verse-how crazy, I know!- or hanging out with my best friend, who happens to be Chris," Rihanna told Elle recently. "That's why I'm posting pictures of myself smoking pot, to tell the truth about myself. I've got so much to think about, why bring all this extra (expletive) by being dishonest?"

However, some people like 26-year-old actress and filmmaker Lena Dunham have spoken out about Rihanna glorifying her recreational habits on Instagram. Dunham is responsible for the creation of the HBO series "Girls" and said that she used to be a fan of Rihanna's.

Spoke out about the singer failing to act as a role model on social media when speaking on actor Alec Baldwin's podcast "Here's The Thing" last January.

"Like you know, she left Barbados, she's had this amazing career, she's won a Grammy, she's talented," Dunham said of Rihanna. "And then she gets back together with Chris Brown and posts a million pictures of them smoking marijuana together on a bed … And it cracks my heart in half in a way that makes me feel like I'm 95 years old."
