'Rise Of The Tomb Raider' DLC News: 'Cold Darkness Awakened' DLC Arrives March 29

The second DLC for the adventure video game "Rise of the Tomb Raider" is arriving on March 29 for the Xbox One and Windows PC. Entitled "Cold Darkness Awakened," this DLC is said to be the last expansion pack that the game will receive, according to a Tech Times report, as well as through an announcement on the Xbox Wire.

According to the Xbox Wire post, this final DLC will bring Lara in close and deadly contact with "an army of nightmarish predators." These dangerous predators are actually Trinity soldiers who have been infected by something that was created at a Cold War research base somewhere in Siberia. The infection started when the research base was infiltrated and thereby turning the soldiers into "bloodthirsty killers who thrive on carnage." The game's heroine, Lara Croft, must battle these soldiers, while trying to keep the infection at bay and eventually close down the base. In doing so, she must rely on her combat and survival tactics and crafting abilities as always.

"Cold Darkness Awakened" brings Lara Croft to the cold and wintry lands of Siberia. As always, she is fighting against an organization called Trinity. Unlike the previous DLC, "Baba Yaga," which had Lara dealing with supernatural forces in a forest setting, Lara Croft in this new DLC will be facing "zombie-like" Trinity soldiers in what looks like the dead of winter.

This is the third and final content pack for the game, after the developer first released what it called an "Endurance Mode" which has players playing and surviving the game as long as they can. A second DLC dropped early this year, which was entitled "Baba Yaga: Temple of the Witch." This third DLC also signals the end of Lara's adventure in "Rise of the Tomb Raider" according to Tech Times.

The DLC will retail for $9.99, but it is also part of the Season Pass for the game, which retailed for $29.99.
