Robin Williams' Final Autopsy Officially Rules Death as Suicide
It has been three months since the American actor and comedian Robin Williams passed away at his home in Paradise Cay, California, at the age of 63. Initial reports issued following the discovery of his body stated that Williams had hanged himself with a belt and died from asphyxiation.
Now, new developments from the coroner in Marin County, California stated that his death has been officially ruled as a suicide and that there was no alcohol or illegal drugs involved at the time of his demise, CNN reported.
According further to the publication, which cited the official documents released by coroner, that there were prescription drugs found in the scene but the substances was in "therapeutic concentrations."
Williams was also sober at the time of his death.
TMZ, who was able to obtained copies of the documents released on Friday, said that the investigation found four drugs in William's system at the time of his death, two of which are anti-depressants and the other two are caffeine compounds.
Previous reports listed that aside from his battle of severe depression, anxiety and paranoia, the famous stand-up comedian has also been struggling with Parkinson's Disease.
Susan Schneider, his wife, later released a statement last August revealing the grave conditions Williams have went through while he was alive.
"Robin's sobriety was intact and he was brave as he struggled with his own battles of depression, anxiety, as well as early stages of Parkinson's Disease, which he was not yet ready to share publicly," she said.
"His greatest legacy, besides his three children, is the joy and happiness he offered to others, particularly to those fighting personal battles. It is our hope in the wake of Robin's tragic passing, that others will find the strength to seek the care and support they need to treat whatever battles they are facing so they may feel less afraid," Schneider added.
Williams' long showbusiness career was known for his improvisational skills and his brilliant acting performances.
He was awarded an Oscar for his role in the 1997 film "Good Will Hunting." Other accolades listed under his belt are two Emmy Awards, six Golden Globes, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and five Grammy Awards.
