'Rocket League' Halloween-Event Starts This Week

The "Rocket League" Halloween event kicks off this week. Dubbed "Haunted Hallows," the event comes with a new limited-time currency which players can use to buy crates containing a variety of Halloween themed items.

In a recent blog post on the game's website, the details of the event were revealed. Starting Monday, Oct. 16, players can start collecting a limited-time currency called Candy Corn. This can be done by simply playing, and completing online matches.

To use their accumulated Candy Corn, "Rocket League" players simply have to click the button that says "Special Event" on the main menu screen. From there, they can redeem their corn to claim Halloween Items, Decryptors, and Locked "Haunted Hallows" Crates.

Candy Corn can be earned and used for the duration of the event and will expire one week after the end of "Haunted Hallows." Items purchased with Candy Corn DO NOT expire at the end of the event and will remain in player's inventories.

Aside from collecting Candy Corn, players can also get "Haunted Hallows" Crates in other ways. Crates can be dropped at the end of online matches. Crates that are dropped or purchased with Candy Corn require a Key or a Decryptor to open.

Crates can also be bought directly and can be opened without the need for a Key or a Decryptor. Purchased Crates will not be tradeable, but items from purchased crates can be traded after the standard seven-day trade hold window.

Finally, items in the Crates will not be updated for the next year's Halloween event. This means that players who hold on to their crates until the next event will still get the same items. The event will run from Oct. 16 until Nov. 6 giving players plenty of time to collect Candy Corn "Haunted Hallows" Crates.

Looking to join in on the Halloween fun? "Rocket League" is currently available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Microsoft Windows, macOS, and Linux.
