Rolling Stones Cancel Hanging Rock Show Due to Jagger's Throat Infection

The Rolling Stones had cancelled a show in Australia due to their frontman, Mick Jagger, suffering from a major throat infection. More than 20,000 fans who went to the Hanging Rock concert are furious to learn about the cancellation. Those who bought the tickets have been offered a full refund.

Jagger, who is now 71-years old, has received strict orders from his doctor to rest his vocal chords. Earlier this year, the legendary rock band had cancelled another gig after the death of Jagger's girlfriend L'Wren Scott, who committed suicide March.

"This means the scheduled show at Hanging Rock near Melbourne is unfortunately cancelled," said a spokesman from Frontier Touring.

While the band had announced that they had "no other option," they got little sympathy from fans who had called on him to "harden up." The refunds meant nothing to fans of the band upon learning that the show would not be rescheduled. The band's remaining shows are however, set to continue with their next one at Sydney on November 12.

"I think Mick should get some Fisherman's Friends and harden up," said one of the fans Peter Magill. His friend Benn Knott had added to his sentiments, "If Jagger is going to play in Sydney it can't be that bad."

Fans aren't the only ones who are at a loss as Frontier Touring had spent the past 10 days setting up the stage in the venue, which ended up not being used anyway. Other amenities like food trucks, toilets had begun packing up within hours of the announcement.
