Ron Paul Releases New Ad in Iowa and New Hampshire (VIDEO)

Presidential candidate Ron Paul just released a new political advertisement.

Republican Rep. Ron Paul released the new ad in Iowa, where he is in the lead in the polls against Mitt Romney, according to the latest Public Policy Polling poll. The ad is titled, “Big Dog.”

The ad will start running on Monday for broadcast and cable television in Iowa and New Hampshire. Paul told supporters at a New Hampshire House Party, according to Patch, that placing first in Iowa and New Hampshire is critical to the campaign.

The 30-second ad starts by asking: “What's up with these sorry politicians?” It then continues to show a dog barking with “lots of bark” and “but when it's show time, whimpering like little shih tzus” narrating the video. The ad then shows a Shih Tzu dog in a spotlight.

The narrator asks: “You want big cuts?” and “Ron Paul's been screaming it for years. Budget crisis? No problem. Cut a trillion dollars year one. That's trillion with a T. Department of Education - Gone. Interior, Energy, HUD, Commerce - Gone.”

The narrator concludes the ad with, “Later, bureaucrats. That's how Ron Paul rolls. Ron Paul is running on the premises that all these departments waste tax payer money and the only people that benefit from them are the bureaucrats.”

The National Campaign Chairperson Jesse Benton, according to CBS News, said the ad is “fun and energetic, yet the issues it focuses on are grave and weigh heavily on the minds of voters across America.”

 “Through this ad we continue to argue that Ron Paul is the only candidate with a serious economic plan to end out-of-control federal spending, reduce the debt, and curtail government activism that hampers economic growth,” Benton continued in a statement.
