Ronda Rousey News: Former Rival Miesha Tate Believes 'Rowdy' Would Lose In Holm Rematch

Former women's bantamweight title contender Miesha Tate believes that the same outcome would happen on the rematch between champion Holly Holm and former 135-pound queen Ronda Rousey.

Holm's second round knockout win over Rousey at UFC 193 on November 15 came off as a shocker to many, given the fact that "Rowdy" was already able to establish herself as a dominant force in the division. Sports Illustrated Magazine even dubbed her as the "most dominant athlete alive."

While many believe that Rousey would be able to bounce back given the elite fighter status that she does hold, Tate actually thinks otherwise.

In a report by Bloody Elbow, "Cupcake," who faced Rousey twice in the last five years, says it would be a 0-2 record for her rival. Tate also pointed out that Holm would have already made more adjustments for the rematch, that Rousey still would not be able to handle "The Preacher's Daughter."

"She's going to be even more prepared, and I don't know if it's a smart move, because Ronda might go 0-2," Tate said in the report.

Rousey has been given a six-month medical suspension following her first-ever defeat in a professional mixed martial arts competition. After also declaring her intent to "disappear" for a while after UFC 193 and return at UFC 200, which is scheduled for July of the coming year, it is likely that the MMA world will not be seeing too much of Rousey for a while.

This is another factor that Tate took note of, saying that scheduling the rematch within that time period only puts Rousey to a disadvantage.

"I'm not a fan of the rematch in that amount of time, because with everything else that Ronda has going on, plus her injuries, I just don't think it's going to amount to a good outcome," she said.

Tate last saw action in July, where she won a unanimous decision verdict against contender Jessica Eye.
