'Rookie Blue' Season 6 News, Update: Will the Canadian Police Drama Get A Season 7 Order?

The sixth season of the hit police-procedural drama TV series "Rookie Blue" has just taken a bow on the American airwaves (via ABC network). The show, however, had first ended back in Global network in Canada sometime late in July.

Although it managed to grab a hold on its loyal followers, the show, however, recorded its lowest ratings during the airing of its penultimate episode on US soil.

The report from MasterHerald.com said that the 10 p.m. timeslot was ultimately dominated by its direct competitor, "Under the Dome" from CBS.

Upon the release of TV Ratings for the August 20 airing, it was found out that the CBS supernatural drama gained a 13% rise from its ratings with 0.9/3 viewership score. In contrast, the Missy Peregrym-starred series dropped to 17% from its previous week's performance with a 0.5/2 viewership rating.

Meanwhile, the rating for the August 27 airing has yet to be revealed but taking hints from the reviews, the finale might not be faring well with the viewers.

Master Herald went on to stipulate the importance of TV ratings as they are "typically the best indication of a show's likelihood of staying on the air."

Needless to say, the higher the numbers, the better the chances of the show's survival.

While the data and rumors appear to be against the Season 7 renewal of "Rookie Blue," there's still some hope that the show will get a greenlight to continue.

Executive producer Tassie Cameron was previously quoted in her statement that "something might really be in the works" for the scripted program and that it could be getting a Season 7 order.

For those who missed it, Episode 11 "74 Epiphanies" saw Andy dealing with some serious setbacks on the way to her wedding. Stranded on the street when her truck got stolen and the batteries of her phone empty, while at the same time trying to save a man's life, the episode still fullfilled everyone's wishes to see her and Sam tying the knot.

Stay tuned for more updates.
