Ryan Lochte Talks Partying With Prince Harry: 'It Was a One-Time Thing'

Ryan Lochte discussed his encounter and partying with Prince Harry in a recent interview. The Olympic champion and star of "What Would Ryan Lochte Do?" said that while it was fun, he was only in Las Vegas to spend time with his friends.

"I met him at a party in Vegas. He asked if I wanted to race him in the pool. I said, 'Let me go get my suit,' but he said, 'No, we're doing it right now!' So we jumped in fully clothed," Lochte told In Touch Weekly.

After the race, which Lochte easily won, he returned to his hotel room to hang out with friends. That was the last time he saw Harry and said that their time together was most likely "a one time thing."

"We hung out in the pool for a big longer and then I was like, 'Hey, it was a pleasure meeting you. I'm going to go back to my friends at my table,'" Lochte said. "I know he's a prince, but my friends were there. That's the reason I went to Vegas– for my friends. So [Prince Harry and I] went our separate ways."

This was the same trip in which Harry was photographed in the nude with friends in his own hotel room. The photographs caused great embarrassment for the royal family, but Harry prevailed and went back to fighting in Afghanistan. As for Lochte, he went back to his professional career and began filming his own reality show for E! TV.

He felt bad for the Prince who was caught up in the scandal, though.

"He was there to have fun, and it's just sad that someone would go out of their way to try to sabotage him to make a quick buck. He's a good guy. I got to know him, talk to him, and hang out with him and he's a really nice guy," Lochte said.
