'Deadpool' Movie News, Cast Rumors: Ryan Reynolds Reveals Suit on Twitter, Fights for R-Rating

Ryan Reynolds revealed audience's first look at his character, Deadpool, a titular role he'll be playing for Marvel early next year.

Canadian actor, Ryan Reynolds took to Twitter early this weekend to reveal his costume as "X-Men" mercenary, Deadpool, a role he'll be playing in the movie of the same name for Marvel's superhero "X-Men" film series on February 12, 2016.

Lounging on a bear skin rug in front of a fire in a pose reminiscent of popular late 70s "Smokey and the Bandit" actor Burt Reynold's beefcake posters, Ryan Reynolds is suited up in the complete costume he'll be wearing in the "X-Men" spinoff film as villain, "Deadpool."

"With great power comes great irresponsibility," Reynolds quipped on the caption of his Twitter reveal, deliberately misquoting a Spiderman line.

The standalone movie tells the story of ex-Special Forces operative-turned-mercenary, Wade Wilson, who's been subjected to illicit experiments that has turned him into a mutant with accelerated healing powers, very much like his nemesis, Wolverine.

In the darkly humorous film, Wilson takes on his alter ego Deadpool in his quest to hunt down the person responsible for his physiological changes.

Ryan, 38, who recently had a baby girl with his wife, actress Blake Lively, is lobbying to get an R-rating for "Deadpool," given the brutal violence his gritty assassin character dishes out on the screen.

"I want #Deadpool to be R. Always have. Fighting the good fight still. Lotta yelling today," He posted on his Twitter feed early this week.

According to Reynolds, "Deadpool" will be breaking the fourth wall, where his character acknowledges to audiences he knows he is being filmed.

"Deadpool will also star mixed martial arts fighter and 'Fast & Furious 6' villain Gina Carano playing Angel Dust, "Stolen" actress Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, "Big Hero 6's" T.J. Miller as Weasel, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and "Game of Thrones'" Ed Skrein in an as yet unannounced role.
