Ryder Cup 2012 Live Coverage: Watch Online Stream of Day 2 as US Take Control (Schedule, Score Update)

The United States have begun day 2 of the Ryder Cup 2012 looking to steamroller Europe from the outset. Building on their 5-3 lead from day 1, the scoreboard on Saturday morning at times was completely red as the United States imposed themselves further. All the action can be watched online through live stream (details below).

As Saturday morning's Foursomes drew near the half way point Simpson and Watson vs Poulter and Rose was all square after 9 holes. The U.S. pairing had been leading but the Europeans had managed to claw back to level at the midway point of the match.

Elsewhere Bradley and Mickelson were a commanding 5 up against Westwood and Donald as they came to hole 9. Westwood in particular looked out of sorts over the morning session.

Dufner and Z. Johnson were 1 up against Colsaerts and Garcia at the seventh hole.

And in the final pairings Furyk and Snedeker were 2 up against McIlroy and McDowell at hole 6.

With the United States currently leading in three of the four pairings they could take a firm grip on reclaiming the Ryder Cup come lunch time.

Coming into this second day morning one of the big stories was that Tiger Woods was being placed on the bench for the first time in his Ryder Cup career. Woods struggled through day 1 and U.S. captain Dais Love III decided to leave the former world number 1 on the bench for Saturday morning's Foursomes.

Until now Woods had played in every match he has been available for since making his debut all the way back in 1997 at Valderrama. However, Love had said earlier in the week that he was not keen on any golfer playing all five matches over the three days, and that he would prefer if they conserved their energy for the singles matches on Sunday.

Friday morning was a tense affair as both sides traded blows, coming out of the morning Foursomes 2-2. However, the afternoon Fourballs saw the United States turn the screw at the Medinah Country Club, led by the brilliant pairing of Phil Mickelson and Keegan Bradley.

Bubba Watson and Webb Simpson were also a powerful duo as the hosts claimed three of the available points after lunch to move into a good lead moving into day 2.
