Samsung Chromebook 2 is available on Amazon for $218.95. It runs on Intel Celeron, a 4GB RAM and 16GB of internal memory. Its small screen measures 11.6 inches and weighs only 2.6 lbs, a size which can simply be placed inside a bag or carried by hand.

Its top is wrapped in a leather material that makes Samsung Chromebook 2 look like a classic book that one can easily hold. Its overall slim and portable design certainly does not sacrifice the quality of the gadget and the power it packs.

Samsung Chromebook 2 a Crowd Favorite

Despite the release of the Samsung Chromebook 3 last January, the Samsung Chromebook 2 remains a favorite for many laptop users who are after a powerful portable device they can take with them anywhere they go.

A performance test of the device revealed that it can handle 45 different tabs without slowing down. It will, however, struggle if various medias will be played or loaded at once. This was blamed on the Chrome OS running laptop, which could not take too many applications running at a time.

On the other hand, its WiFi connection is quick with fast upload and download speeds. The only thing that Gadget Review did not like from the device were the quality of the speakers which it tagged as "so-so."

The Samsung Chromebook 2 is just one of the many thin and light devices on the market created for the purpose of giving laptop users a lighter but equally useful alternative.

Google to Expand Chromebook Features?

However, many are still not buying the idea of this device because it only runs web applications compared to a usual laptop or a smartphone which has a built-in operating system and native applications.

It was also added that Google is seriously considering expanding the capabilities of the Chromebook especially with users asking for more applications and working on files easily.

There is the plan to incorporate the Google Play Store with Chromebook models for users to enjoy their favorite apps with this light and useful gadget. Chromebook fans will now be able to play their favorite Android games and also keep track of their social media accounts.
