Samsung Galaxy A8 Release Date Will First Hit Chinese Market, Pricing Allegedly Around $494

After showing up in several leaks and reports, the mysterious Samsung Galaxy A8 smartphone has recently passed through the Chinese certification website TENAA.

If this tells us something, it's that the Android-powered device should be launched in the Asian country soon.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the super slim handset will be announced in China on July 17. Based on the report, the flagship model of Samsung's Galaxy A series might hit shelves right away after its announcement.

In the leaked documents from TENAA, and the FCC in the US, the Samsung Galaxy A8 will pack a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, 2GB of RAM, and a Snapdragon 615 chipset.

Also on board is a 16GB built-in storage that can be expanded through the microSD card slot, a 16MP primary shooter, a 5MP selfie camera, and a fingerprint sensor placed at the phone's Home button.

The Galaxy A8 is said to boast a design that is similar to the Galaxy S6, but it would be a little bigger than the current Samsung Android flagship.

While official pricing has not been revealed, the device will reportedly cost around €439 ($494). Unfortunately, after the Chinese launch, there are no additional details when and where the Galaxy A8 will be available next.
