Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Specs, Release Date: Upcoming High-End Phablet Will Get Announced Earlier Than Usual?

For the past four years, Samsung has stuck with its schedule in releasing smartphones - the Galaxy S flagship for the year gets unveiled at the Mobile World Congress, while the Galaxy Note flagship gets released at the IFA event in Berlin.

However, the Korean manufacturer may be changing how things go this year.

According to a report by GSM Arena, several sources are claiming that the upcoming Android-powered smartphone will be unveiled almost a month earlier than usual.

Korean media currently claims that the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will be unveiled in New York on Aug. 13. So what caused the change?

In the report, the advance announcement could be a marketing strategy of Samsung in order to get a better advantage over the new iPhones that would be unveiled in September.

Based on previous rumors and reports, the Korean-based company would unveil two versions of the Galaxy Note 5, similar to what it did last year with the Galaxy Note 4 and Note Edge.

Some of the alleged specs of the device include 3GB of RAM, a 16MP/5MP camera combination, a massive non-removable 4,100mAh battery, and more importantly a card slot that can accommodate a microSDXC card up to 128GB.
