Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 to Launch in More Colors

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 could be launching in more colors soon.

The tablet is only available in white at this time, however, there have been listings in Germany that point to Samsung releasing it in red and gray. Other reports pointed to a brown-black model launching sometime in mid-June.

Samsung has not confirmed the release of any new colors, but a picture of the device in charcoal black was spotted back in March. This could be another potential color for the tablet.

The Galaxy Note 8 was launched by Samsung earlier this year to compete with Apple's wildly successful iPad Mini, which is around the same size. One of the main selling points of the Galaxy Note 8 is its S Pen stylus accessory, which can also be found on the original Galaxy Note and Note 2. Samsung released custom made applications that work specifically with the S Pen as well.

It sports an 8-inch display with 1280 x 800 pixels resolution and 189 ppi. This is a bit higher than Apple's iPad Mini's screen, which has 163 ppi.

Other specifications on the device include a 1.6GHz quad-core A9 processor, 2GB RAM, and special features such as Smart Stay that allows the tablet to recognize if the owner is still awake. This will make it automatically go on standby once the owner falls asleep or stops using it. It is said to be seamless and very responsive.

The iPad Mini has been extremely successful for Apple, who launched the tablet towards the end of last year. It is currently outselling the full-sized iPad in markets throughout the world.

Samsung hoped to capitalize off Apple's introduction of a popular 8-inch tablet by creating a version of the wildy successful Note that is the same size.
