Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2: Features, Specs Review

Samsung is attempting to replace your workstation with the Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2. It's big screen and features trump other Android tablets, but can it go head to head with other laptop hybrid gadgets, such as the Lenovo Yoga or the Microsoft Surface 2? While those two devices have proven themselves as being perfectly versatile, how will the Galaxy Note Pro perform for work and play?

The Note Pro doesn't come with a keyboard, a mouse, or a keyboard with a touch pad, but all of these can be bought separately. It sports a faux leather back with some stitching detail. It measures 11.64 x 8.03 x 0.32 inches and weighs 1.65 pounds.

The device comes with 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded with a microSD card. The Note Pro is powered by a 1.9GHz Exynos 5420 processor and 3GB of RAM. The tablet runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with Samsung's TouchWiz interface on top.

The Note Pro comes with free apps which will surely be appreciated by those who intend to use the device for work. It comes with a 2 year subscription to RemotePC, WebEx Meetings, and Hansom Office.

The Note Pro's 12.2-inch display has a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels, and the device's MultiScreen feature allows up to five apps to be opened at once. However, one will find that performance slows down when multiple apps are open. The device has an 8MP rear facing camera.

At $750, the Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 is a quality tablet that is worth its price, but without its accessories, it's difficult to be productive while using it. While it's great for play, it has a long way to go before it can replace your laptop.
