Samsung Galaxy S2 Release Date: AT&T Employees Deny Any Knowledge

AT&T employees have confirmed that they have received no new information regarding the release of the Samsung Galaxy S2.

An AT&T customer service representative told The Christian Post that they have not been given any specifics on when the device would be released.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 was supposed to be made available by AT&T on September 18, but the company decided to postpone its release for unknown reasons.

Some insiders are speculating that it may have something to do with the release of the iPhone 5 which is not expected to drop until sometime in early October.

Rumors have been circulating stating that the Samsung Galaxy S2 will not be available on AT&T until after the iPhone 5 comes out.

Samsung created the Android powered Galaxy S2 specifically to go head to head with Apple’s iPhone 5 which is still nowhere to be seen.

As we enter the back-end of September still no information has been officially confirmed by Apple or any carriers regarding the next generation iPhone.

Sprint released its version of the Galaxy S2 over the weekend which they call the Epic 4G Touch.

The device has already received rave reviews and is a big seller in the overseas market.

T-Mobile is also expected to release a version of the Galaxy S2, but the carrier has not yet revealed a release date.

The Galaxy S2 is Android-powered running Google’s 2.3 Gingerbread OS and uses Samsung’s TouchWiz UI touch screen capability.

The smartphone sports a dual-core 1.2GHz ARM Cortex-A9 Mali-400MP GPU Orion chipset on the Sprint and AT&T versions.

The device is also expected to run Android’s Ice Cream Sandwich OS when it is released at the end of October.

The Galaxy S2 also has Flash capability, a feature not included on any iPhone thus far.
