Samsung Galaxy S2 Release Date: T-Mobile Introduces Smartphone Along With HTC Amaze 4G

The Samsung Galaxy S2 has finally been introduced to the T-Mobile network, along with another smartphone and a 4G hotspot at an event that took place on Monday.

At the GigaOM Mobilize conference, which took place in San Francisco, California, T-Mobile announced its latest 4G line-up. As well as the Galaxy S2, the network also unveiled the HTC Amaze 4G and its Sonic 4G Mobile Hotspot.

T-Mobile chief marketing officer Cole Brodman showed off the new devices and also detailed that Galaxy S2 and Amaze 4G will be available for pre-sale on October 10 and for public sale on October 12.

Both of the Galaxy S2 and Amaze 4G have been noted for their exceptional speed. The smartphones are slated to run on T-Mobile's recently updated HSPA+ 42 network, which is said to process 4G-like speeds that are faster than most home Internet speeds.

The HTC Amaze 4G is among one of the fastest of the T-Mobile smartphones while the T-Mobile Galaxy S2 is the fastest U.S. Galaxy S2 device.

The Galaxy S2, Epic 4G Touch has been launched on the Sprint network since September 16 and the Galaxy S2 will launch on the AT&T network on October 2.

The Galaxy S2 for Sprint and AT&T run on a 1.2GHz dual-core processor while the Galaxy S2 for T-Mobile runs on a 1.5GHz dual-core processor. Its other impressive specs include a Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 processor, a 4.52-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, NFC support and the Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread OS.

The Amaze 4G runs on a 1.5GHz dual-core processor. Its other specs include a 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video recording, a rear illuminated sensor for night shots, a 4.3-inch qHD Super LCD screen, NFC support and the Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread OS.

Little information was given about the Sonic 4G Mobile Hotspot, however, it is slated to release in October.
