Samsung Galaxy S3 to Gain Wireless Charging and Better Battery

Even though Samsung's Galaxy S4 unveiling is less than 24 hours away, the company has not forgotten about the highly anticipated device's predecessor.

The wildly popular Galaxy S3 will receive some interesting upgrades along with a significant price cut that will make the device irresistible to many. Samsung will offer the handset with wireless charging capabilities and will also improve the battery life. The S3's display is also rumored to have a slight adjustment in a positive direction.

U.S. Cellular recently released a software update for the Galaxy S3 which brings other improvements to the device.

This update will bring the smartphone up to the MB1 build, which includes a few improvements and additions to the present build and upgrades it to the latest form of Android 4.1, JellyBean.

The Galaxy S3 will benefit from the update as it will fix some bugs and bring some enhancements to audio during streaming. The camera will also gain some capabilities related to continuous shooting.

This update is also available for the Galaxy Note 2.

The phablet already runs the latest version of Android 4.1, JellyBean, so the update will probably bring other kinds of upgrades and additions to the device. Changes being made to the phablet with the update are unknown at this point. However, there will most likely be bug fixes.

A new bug recently discovered on the Samsung Galaxy S3 allows users to bypass the lock screen and get right into the main menu.

This can be done by pressing "Emergency Call," followed by "Emergency Contacts," then "Home Button," followed by Power. If performed in this sequence, a Galaxy S3 user could bypass the lock screen and get right to the home screen without any security issues.

The software update might actually correct that issue.
