Samsung Galaxy S6 Active Specs: Release Date Coming Soon, Rugged Device Appears in Listing

More than two months after the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 were both launched, some Samsung and Android fans are missing the flagship's water and dust resistance.

Fortunately, it looks like the Korean manufacturer will continue developing the Galaxy S6 Active, and will offer the device soon.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the rugged handset has appeared in an official listing on a Samsung website. Of course, right after the device was spotted, the Galaxy S6 Active was scratched off the list, as if it were a mistake putting it there.

Another interesting thing to point out here is that the Galaxy S6 Active listing had a release date indicated, and it was supposed to hit the market on April 10 as well, like the other two high-end devices.

Unfortunately, that might not be the case, though it still means that it is highly probable that the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active will launch soon because it's already late on schedule.

Some of the rumored specs for the Galaxy S6 Active include a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display with QHD or 2K (2560 x 1440) resolution, 3GB of RAM, an Exynos 7420 chipset, and 16MP primary camera, 5MP front shooter, 3,500mAh battery to power the device hopefully for an entire day.

One feature that Samsung loyalists would love about the Galaxy S6 Active is its water and dust resistance, including the inclusion of a microSD card slot.

In the report, AT&T will reportedly offer the Galaxy S6 first in the US, though we should take it with a pinch of salt.
