Samsung Galaxy S6 Release Date Likely to Arrive March-April 2015

Everyone's attention is now on the newly released iPhone 6 but anyone who is not an Apple fan is looking forward to the release of other smartphones. Google Nexus fans might be looking out for the Nexus 6 or the Nexus 9 while Samsung fans are looking forward for the next line in the South Korean tech company's flagship, the Galaxy S6.

The Galaxy S5 has been out for almost a year now and by today's smartphone standards, it's an old phone and people are on the lookout for the newest from Samsung. The company still hasn't announced any news regarding the release of their new flagship but Samsung has a yearly release cycle that it rarely deviates from.

It's Galaxy S line from the S2 to the S5 have seen a release at or close to MWC, which means that the S6 would likely be the same. Next year, MWC is scheduled between March 2 and March 5. The Galaxy S6 could be seeing an unveiling during that time and then a release the month after. This places the release date sometime in March or in April next year.

As for hardware, the Galaxy S6 could be making the jump to QHD screens after LG's release of the G3 with a 2560 x 1440 QHD display. Also, since Samsung hasn't been straying from using its Super AMOLED screens, it's to no surprise that it would be used for the S6. There are also rumors that it will have a curved screen or a flexible display.

As to what will be powering the phone, it's expected to run on a 64-bit chipset seeing as Android L will sport 64-bit support. Most likely, the S6 will be powered with either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 or 810 processor considering that both are 64-bit.

GPU is speculated to be an Adreno 430, which is supposedly 30 percent faster than the Adreno 420. As for RAM, the S6 could go as high as 4GB to support the 64-bit processor. Still, with the newly released Galaxy Note 4 only going as high as 3GB RAM, the same could be going for the S6.
