Samsung Galaxy S6 Release Date: New Concept Images Revealed?

Almost every major flagship smartphones for 2014 has come out including the two handsets from Apple, the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus; the Google Nexus 6; and the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, among others.

Recent news is now pointing out to the release of yet another reiteration of the Galaxy phone series from the South Korean tech giant, aptly named the Samsung Galaxy S6. Speculations regarding the purported device's release date indicated that it is "extremely unlikely to arrive this year," PC Advisor reported.

"Samsung, like other hardware manufacturers has got into a rhythm of launching a new flagship smartphone once per year. Just as the Galaxy Note 4 and iPhone 6 were expected to launch in September and did so, we (along with many others) expect the Galaxy S6 to launch close to MWC," the site said.

Other reports pointed out that the company is trying to restart the already "predictable" product release cycles. The plan, as stated by Techno Buffalo, was internally dubbed as "Project Zero."

The site cited Korean news outlet Daum stating early this week that Samsung is working to alter the launch of its upcoming flagship by a month.

"Instead of releasing the handset in April, as it typically does for its Galaxy Sx refreshes, it's currently working to push the Galaxy S6 out the door in March," Techno Buffalo said.

Although there isn't still that much revealed about what the S6 would look like or what it would offer from the inside, tech analysts recently expressed theories that the newest Galaxy S "will have a display with two curved edges."

New concept images also came out and it looks like the upcoming flagship will have bigger displays, as big as 5.5 inches with SuperAMOLED screen.

The rumor of a "flexible or curved display" is still ringing.

As of design and build, the Samsung Galaxy S6 could come out with a body made from graphene materials or that it will continue the metallic design that the firm integrated on its Galaxy Alpha.

Under the hood, Galaxy S6 is said to run with Qualcomm's 64-bit processors and Android Lollipop OS. SamMobile, the site who released the concept images, even said that the future smartphone will have a new Exynos 7420 processor with four Cortex-A53 and four Cortex-A57 cores.

Depending on the region, the device could also come out with the Snapdragon 810 or 808 versions.
