Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 Review: Specs and Features Overview

When it comes to tablets' screen size, Samsung definitely has one of the most versatile and most expansive range as the company has previously introduced screens measuring 7.7, 10.1, and 12.2 inches, and now, the Korean company has released a tablet with an 8.4-inch screen, called the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4.

Design:
The Galaxy Pro 8.4 takes a lot of its design cues from the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2, but it's rendered in a more compact way. The device measures 8.6 x 5.1 x 0.28 inches. The front is all glass, while the back features a chrome-colored plastic rim and faux leather material with stitching to mimic the look of leather, which, unfortunately does not give the device a premium feel, compared to the iPad Air 2.

Features:
Though the tablet loses points in the design department, its display makes up for it as the 8.4 LCD screen has a resolution of 2560 x 1600.

The device is powered by a Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor backed by 2GB of RAM. In addition to internal storage of 16GB or 32GB, Samsung has thoughtfully included a microSD slot for up to 64GB of additional capacity.

The 8MP main camera is located on the top left corner of the tablet in landscape view, and the tablet's compact size makes it a breeze to shoot photos anywhere. The images captured are clear and accurately colored, and the camera it quick to focus on an object. It also has different modes such as a Beauty face mode, which gives faces an unnatural smoothed out effect. One excellent mode is the Best face mode, which allows you to merge multiple group shots into one "best" picture. The 2MP front-facing camera also takes decent selfies, and you can choose to edit them out with the Beauty face mode.

Price:
The Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 costs $230.
