Samsung Galaxy Victory Released on Virgin Mobile

The Samsung Galaxy Victory is now available on Virgin Mobile for $299.

This is one of the first smartphones that will run on the carrier's LTE network.

"Samsung Galaxy Victory 4G LTE is Virgin Mobile's first LTE device, delivering a postpaid experience without a contract and loaded with Android 4.1, JellyBean, which brings stunning graphical capabilities and an upgraded Google Now service, including contextual search," said the carrier in a press release.

The new handset can be purchased with no obligation for $299 at virginmobileusa.com and it comes in gray.

Other specifications on the Galaxy Victory include a 5-megapixel rear camera with HD video capture, a 1.3-megapixel front camera, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi capability, a microSD slot for expandable storage, and a 1.2GHz dual-core processor.

Virgin Mobile prides itself on its no-contract pre-paid deals and hopes to gain more ground with its new LTE network.

"With the phones customers want, unlimited data and messaging included on all plans, and now $G LTE capable device, we continue to provoke customers to ask themselves why they haven't switch from postpaid to a better deal with Virgin Mobile," said Mark Lederman, director of Virgin Mobile USA.

The carrier's No-Contract Beyond Talk unlimited data and messaging plans start at $35 per month. The Victory 4G LTE will ship in the middle of March.

Virgin Mobile was able to gain access to Sprint's new LTE market since it functions as the company's pre-paid carrier.

Virgin Mobile made headlines last year when it became one of the first carriers to offer a pre-paid iPhone 4S. It now carries the iPhone 5 and offers one of the most reasonable monthly plans available for the device. However, for customers looking for a cheaper lower-end, the Galaxy Victory is the better choice.
