Samsung Galaxy X Release Date and News: Rumored Flexible Smartphones are the Future; New Lineup to Be Revealed

The Rumored Samsung Galaxy X Line Will Be Flexible

It has been rumored that Samsung will be releasing a "flexible" Galaxy X line.

Samsung has been leaning towards curved-edge displays and is in favor of making it their company's trademark. Their sales report indicated that the sales of their Edge models are soaring compared to their other flagship models. Rumors are swirling again, saying they will be releasing their Galaxy X lineup at the MWC 2017 next year.

The Galaxy X line is reported to be made up of flexible smartphones that can be folded. The USB Port reports that Samsung is at the forefront of innovative smartphone AMOLED displays that are bendable. If so, then the rumors of Samsung coming out with the Galaxy X line may hold water after all.

The rumored Galaxy X line devices will be bendable, but they are not the same with "flip" phones. They could be so much more than that. They may look and have the shape of slap bracelets once they are placed on the wrist. With that said, these smartphones may become a game-changer in the mobile industry and like the curved-edge displays, Samsung may be the pioneer of it.

Apart from the phone transforming into a slap bracelet, the outlet adds that the phones can be transformed into other devices as well. From smartphones, the Galaxy X line devices can be turned into smartwatches, phablets or tablet hybrids.

Samsung's Foray Into Flexible Displays

Samsung has apparently been into making flexible displays for smartphones and they have been working on it for a couple of years, if not longer. The bendable Samsung Galaxy X line is rumored to be a project they're working on making true in the next few years.

Samsung Galaxy X Line to Be Revealed at MWC 2017?

According to Know Your Mobile, Samsung may be unveiling the Galaxy X line at the Mobile World Congress 2017 (MWC 2017) early next year. There may be five devices in Samsung's new Galaxy X line with foldable AMOLED screens that will make them bendable.

It is expected that the bendable phones will be lighter and very portable. Furthermore, having these devices may change how smartphones will function in our lives, making it more of a necessity than luxury as its features and capability slowly becomes more integrated in our daily lives.

Samsung has not released any official statement regarding the existence of the Galaxy X line so speculations may remain as they are unless otherwise confirmed or denied.
