Samsung Tightens Up Securtiy Before Galaxy S3 Release

Samsung is reportedly tightening up security around the "next Galaxy" smartphone that is expected to be the Galaxy S3, according to sources close to the company.

CrazyAboutAndroid reports that Samsung is running a tight ship when it comes to information on the Galaxy S3, and that a source close to the Korea based electronics giant told the site that the device is internally referred to as the "Next Galaxy" rather than the Galaxy S3.

Security is tighter than ever and Samsung is even placing the phone inside dummy boxes to disguise it when it is taken off of campus for testing. The site states that many insiders could have seen the device and not even known it was the S3.

It also reported that the pictures leaked by Gizmodo earlier today were not of the actually Galaxy S3, but of the dummy box. The real version is expected to sport ceramic casing.

Samsung seems to be looking to build up excitement for the device by keeping it under wraps. Apple normally does the same with all of its device launches including the iPhone and the iPad.

CrazyAboutAndroid also stated that most of the speculation regarding the device's specifications should be taken with a grain of salt.

However, most of the time the rumors spread on iOS or Android devices are pretty close to being true once the handsets are launched.

Samsung is expected to unveil the Samsung Galaxy S3 at a media event taking place on May 3 in London, England. The company sent out invitations to the event earlier this week.

Two features that are almost guaranteed to appear on the device are 4G LTE and Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich.

Other rumored specifications for the Galaxy S3 include a quad-core processor and a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED 1080p HD display.
