With 3 million Galaxy S II's sold in just 55 days, we may now understand Apple's concern better over a growing Samsung and the reason behind the number of lawsuits it has filed against the South Korean company.

Samsung's Galaxy S II, the fastest Android smartphone out in the market, was released in May of this year to more than 120 countries.

With the newest phone selling 3 million units 30 days faster than its predecessor, the Galaxy S, Samsung's popularity in the mobile electronics market could just be on the rise globally although it should not be a surprise to the U.S. which has had its own, Apple, also sell millions of iPhones in less than a month.

Still, astonishing is the fact that Samsung reached this mark without selling to the U.S., an enormous smartphone market. In fact, Samsung hasn't yet revealed its official U.S. release date for the Galaxy S II.

Although the reason behind its huge success can be debated, many tech analysts have pointed out that its design, the world's slimmest smartphone with just 8.49 mm of thickness; its whiplash speed, dual-core 1.2 GHZ; and its Super Amoled Plus display make it a wonderful treat for consumers.
