San Francisco 49ers vs Jacksonville Jaguars takes place on Sunday in an NFL 2013 regular season Week 8 game, with the 49ers looking to keep pace with the Seattle Seahawks at the top of the NFC West division. The game is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream (details below).
The 49ers come into this game with a record of 5-2, a game behind the 6-1 Seattle Seahawks in the NFC West. San Francisco should win this one with quite a bit to spare, and most analysts will have already penciled in the 49ers for a win here today against the lowly Jaguars.
Jacksonville are 0-7 and a rock bottom of the AFC South. They have not looked like getting even close to winning a game yet, and it is unlikely they will be able to pull off a shock against the powerful 49ers today.
The Jaguars are clearly the worst team in the NFL so far this season, and are ranked 32nd in the league in three major areas of offense. In points scored per game they are shocking only just clocking over 10 points per game, and averaging just 10.9 points per game will not them anything much this season. Their offense is simply appalling, and they are also ranked 32nd for total yards gained per game (282 yards), and rush yards per game (63 yards).
In comparison the 49ers are ranked 3rd in the NFL for rush, claiming 143.3 yards per game on rush – which has allowed them to control the clock and grind down opposition defenses.
One area they would like to see improvement, however, is in pass offense, where they surprisingly rank a lowly 31st in the NFL right now – only recording 191.7 yards on pass per game.
Quarterback Colin Kaepernick is 103 of 182 for 1,420 yards and 8 touchdowns. But it is Frank Gore doing a lot of the damage, and he has carried 127 times for 547 yards and five touchdowns.
