The San Francisco Giants will face off against the Detroit Tigers in Game 3 of the World Series on Saturday night. Game 3 will see Vogelsong start against Anibal Sanchez in an intriguing match up. Vogelsong has gone 2-0 so far in the post season, registering a 1.42 ERA across his three starts

The Tigers will be desperate to get their offense working for Game 3. They have been hugely ineffective so far through Games 1 and 2, scoring just three runs and 10 hits in their two defeats until now.

Tigers' fans will be looking to the likes of Miguel Cabrera and Prince Fielder to lead the way and hopefully give their pitchers a bit more room to operate within rather then the three runs and zero runs they've registered until now in the opening encounters.

In Game 1 Detroit only managed one run through the first eight innings, and in Game 2 it got even worse as the Tigers managed just two hits against the man of the hour Madison Bumgarner.

No team in MLB history has come back from three games down in a World Series, and that shows just how important it is for the Tigers to claw it back to 1-2 tonight.

So far the Tigers are hitting only .167 with 17 strikeouts in their 65 plate appearances, resulting in a anemic run count of just three.

Vogelsong has been in good form this postseason but some analysts have highlighted his below-average fastball speed, and believe that is the weakness that can allow the likes of Cabrera and Fielder to step up.
