The film will be filled with action, while still avoiding the typical guns and punching stereotypes. Gordon-Levitt explained that the "Sandman" series is better as a film than a TV series because it will let the characters of the story take form better.

He plans to remain faithful to the material by Gaiman stating that they will take some concept straight out of the comics. However, he did not share any details on which volume the film will be focused on. There are no news even on the casting of the film.

As of now, he and his team are remaining quiet about the upcoming film. According to Deadline, Goyer stated, "I hesitate to definitively say when it might go before the cameras, but the one thing different between other iterations and ours is that Neil Gaiman has been in the room with us and is a vital part of the team. We have a draft Warners is very happy with and we're moving forward, knock on wood."
