Sarah Jakes Roberts, daughter of popular megachurch pastor Bishop T.D. Jakes, upbraided a critic who called her "carnal" on Instagram for posting a photo of herself modeling clothes stocked in her closet by her stylist.

The photo, which has been liked by fans of the preacher's daughter more than 3,000 times, sparked a rash of reactions after she captioned it with the comment: "When @stylistjbolin stocks your closet so well you just get to walk in the closet and play. This old dress as a jacket with my favorite ripped jeans from Tarjay made for a comfy day."

While Instagram user miacarla4516 complimented Jakes' outfit, the apparent fan felt the post was too carnal.

"Beautiful outfit, but Lord Jesus these 'Christians' and their attire! The world is going to hell in a hand basket and every time I turn around, 'Christians' aren't using social media to tell the world about a Savior. They are using it mostly from a carnal stand point. Hmmm, 'clothes' or 'lives?' I wonder which one does the Lord care more about us touching. You have a huge platform and THE WORLD is definitely watching. Be blessed," said the user who followed up the comment with "Ps ... How was 'service' today?"

Jakes Roberts, however, felt the criticism was unfair and responded accordingly to the fan.

"sarahjakesroberts@miacarla4516 I hope you feel better after your comment. You judge my entire platform from one post yet failed to even look at the powerful worship I posted earlier today. I'm not sure how spewing poison promotes Christ, but I can assure you that many people have come to this page looking at an outfit and left with a word of inspiration and encouragement from God," said Jakes Roberts.

"How could a world you live in ever be going to hell in a hand basket? Is your faith and conviction not strong enough to withstand and combat anything troubling that you see? There are many ways to win souls. As Paul wrote in his letter to the church of Corinth, 'To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law,'" she continued.

"Just because you don't understand the method doesn't mean you should condemn it. I'm very certain that God is guiding and directing all to my journey who were turned away by people seeking to make judgment instead of offering compassion. I may not be your cup of tea and you're probably not mine, but if we believe in the same Christ and are all on a journey of Him completing His work in and through us that's enough for me. Instead of creating division search for an opportunity to be a more compassionate Christian. ... And surely if you don't like what you see you should unfollow, pray, and keep it pushing," the preacher's daughter ended.
