The website for the Southern Baptist Convention's "Everyone Can Kingdom Challenge to baptize 1 million" was newly launched ahead of a hands-on, door-to-door outreach project scheduled for June 18.

Some 10,000 Southern Baptists will assemble at the Gaylord Entertainment Center on Saturday, June 18, in Nashville, for a kick-off rally, followed by a massive door-to-door visitation that will blanket the city. At 6:30 p.m., the group will reassemble for a Celebration Service, including testimonies, music, and preaching. This event will precede the SBC's June 21-22 annual meeting in Nashville, Tenn.

According to Baptist Press, the Everyone Can Kingdom Challenge, launched last year by the denomination's incumbent president Bobby Welch,
"has heightened enlistment for the effort as he has challenged record numbers to participate in the Door-to-Door evangelism"

In comments made to BP, Welch explained his goal "for this next year will be to Witness, Win, and Baptize…ONE MILLION! The time is NOW."

"It will take you, me, and others in our convention working together for the cause of Christ and the souls of men, to reach those who are lost," he said, as he called out for other help.

Jay Johnston, director of LifeWay's evangelism and discipleship area, said "the 10,000-plus coming and participating in the Door-to-Door evangelism and the additional folks that come and participate in other Crossover efforts have the potential to ignite and to show that everyone can do something for the cause of Christ and the obedience of the Great Commission" (Baptist News).

Churches can prepare by training themselves through the resources on the new website, including "Share Jesus Without Fear," The Net, GROW or Sunday School/FAITH Evangelism Strategy. The site also posted a complete schedule for the day and registration and hotel information (Baptist News).

In addition to the www.everyonecan.net website, registration information and other details about the 2005 Crossover Nashville Door-to-Door plans can be obtained by calling toll-free 1-877-324-8498.

The evangelism event is a partnership of LifeWay Christian Resources, the North American Mission Board, SBC Executive Committee and Tennessee Baptist Convention.
