'Scandal' Star Columbus Short Threatened Murder-Suicide, Wife Claims

"Scandal" star Columbus Short's wife has allegedly filed for divorce after he threatened her with a knife. Tanee Short has alleged that Columbus threatened her life and his own last week in the midst of an argument that stemmed from his intoxication.

Tanee then claims that Columbus went for a knife, pinned her to the couch and started choking her before suggesting that they play "Truth or Truth," a variation on the game "Truth or Dare." Columbus reportedly said he would stab her in the leg if she lied at any point during the game; he began naming men that he believed she was having affairs with, which Tanee denied. Columbus then put the knife to her neck and threatened to kill her and himself, according to documents obtained by TMZ.

She has since filed a restraining order against Columbus, which requires him to move out of their shared home. Tanee has also filed for divorce and sole custody of their 2-year-old daughter. It's been quite the ordeal for Columbus, who just last month was charged with felony battery after getting into a physical altercation at a restaurant in West Los Angeles. He was released from the Claremont Police Department after posting $50,000 bail. Columbus faces up to four years in jail if found guilty of the crime.

Columbus stars on ABC's hit series "Scandal," in which he plays Olivia Pope's right-hand man, Harrison Wright. The show is about to wrap up its third successful season with a bang, literally, as a bomb threatens high-profile figures in Washington, D.C.

Before acting on "Scandal," Columbus had roles on Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Death at a Funeral and Stomp the Yard.

He and Tanee have remained quiet about their relationship and the judicial system, but it is no secret that the two have had their issues. At one point, they were planning to divorce but reconciled, only to file for divorce one month later.

"Scandal" airs Thursday nights on ABC.
