Actress Scarlett Johansson and her boyfriend of over a year, Nate Naylor, have officially split, according to a new report.
Johansson began dating New York City ad executive Nate Naylor over a year ago, although the public did not know of their relationship until this past February. The couple first met through an acquaintance.
"They met though mutual friends," a source told Us magazine in February. "And they were hot and heavy right off the bat."
The couple proved an odd dynamic, considering the level of fame that Johansson has achieved in comparison to her little known partner. Even Johansson admitted that dating her "must be very strange for him."
"It's totally bizarre," she continued of Naylor in a May interview with Vogue. "It's an adjustment -- I mean, it's got to be an adjustment for him way more than it was for me at nineteen. But he's remarkably good about it."
But even while they were dating, it was reported that the "Avengers" actress was having a difficult time getting over her ex, Ryan Reynolds, whom she was married to for two years.
While she explained the split as "comically amicable," she added that it was still "horrible,"
"Of course it's horrible," she told Vogue. "It was devastating. It really throws you. You think that your life is going to be one way, and then, for various reasons or whatever, it doesn't work out."
Could news that Reynolds just became remarried to Blake Lively have anything to do with Johansson's split? The announcement that the couple wed occurred just a few weeks ago, right around the time the time that some began to speculate that Johansson had split from Naylor.
Last month, she was seen at the Democratic National Convention holding hands with a different man, Jared Leto. Johansson had dated Leto several years ago. The 27-year-old's representatives denied any accusations of infidelity.
"Scarlett is still dating Nate," the rep told Us. "This is very innocent. Scarlett and Jared have remained friends, nothing more, nothing less."
A source confirmed to Us that the couple officially split last week.
