In the previous episode, Seth Branson (Bobby Campo), who everyone believed was the killer, was finally arrested and in custody as the sheriff happily announced that the town is now safe. However, blogger Piper Shaw (Amelia Rose Blaire) does not believe that the police have the right guy and questioned the way the police handled everything.

She discovered that the High School Halloween dance was continued in order to lure out the killer and that everyone knew about the police's plans that required folks not to wear any sort of mask during the trick or treat. She also discovered the killer's rather profound interest in Emma and her family.

The sheriff was starting to have his own doubts and he was attacked by the real killer while double-checking the information. In the meantime, Piper and Emma talked to Branson's mother in an effort to figure things out, while Noah and Audrey (Bex Tylor-Klaus) discovered some old footage.

The old footage showsed Kieran (Amadeus Serafini) with Nina (Bella Thorne) in a bar during a time that Kieran supposedly did not exist yet in town. Although, it turnsed out Kieran was already in town just before the killings started. Kieran left town before anyone could ask him questions and Seth escaped from jail.
