Secular Schools Become Christian

Three more secular schools in England will become Christian schools this year, according to London’s Daily Telegraph newspaper, in a trend where more schools are joining the education administrated by the Church of England.

In the past two years, already eight government-run institutions have converted to being church-run because parents of the students see Anglican schools as well run and welcome the introduction of the Christian ethics, reported the paper. Students who attend Christian schools score 12 percent higher on academic scores than those who attend secular institutions.

The Church of England runs 4,500 elementary and plans to add 100 more schools to its current number of 197 secondary schools by 2007.
