Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber News: Moving On From Canadian Singer, Honored at Teen Choice Awards

It has been no secret that the last few months have been difficult for Selena Gomez. She's allegedly no longer speaking to ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber. She has unfollowed countless friends on Instagram and Twitter. And there have been rumors that she's going to rehab for excessive partying.

But Gomez's appearance at the Teen Choice Awards surprised everyone as she carried herself with poise and elegance as she accepted the Ultimate Choice Award. The star was honored for her work in film, TV, and music. Former recipients of the award include Ashton Kutcher, Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears.

The former Disney star appeared in a classy Yves Saint Laurent black pantsuit, with her hair pulled back and her face tastefully made up in muted shades.

She became quite emotional in her speech as she expressed her gratitude to her fans.

"I have to be honest, especially this month, I cannot thank you guys [enough]. You remind me amidst all the stuff that we deal with personally, you remind me of what's important. That's giving and loving and caring about each other," she said.

It has also been reported that Gomez has reunited with her good friend, Taylor Swift, after the two had a brief falling out allegedly because Swift was not happy with Gomez's relationship with Bieber, as the singer could see how badly Gomez was affected by Bieber's past indiscretions and bad behavior. The ladies were spotted on a girl's night out on Aug. 9 and appeared to be closer than ever.

HollywoodLife is reporting that Swift is very proud of how Gomez is handling herself after her breakup with Bieber.

"Taylor and Selena have been talking a lot more now that Justin is out of the picture. She's relieved that Selena finally came to her senses and dumped Justin," a source told the website.
