Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber could become neighbors if she follows through with her plans to purchase a new home in Calabasas.
The former Disney star, 21, has reportedly been eyeing a property in the same estate where Bieber's mansion is located and sources claim she is preparing to put in an offer. The pair dated for three-years before splitting up in May.
"Selena is very close to making an offer on a house inside the Calabasas development where Justin lives," a source told Life and Style magazine.
"She looked at other neighborhoods, but really fell in love with a home near Justin's," the insider revealed.
In December 2012 Bieber, 19, and Gomez split after a fight in Mexico before reconciling in January. By May they were again torn apart due to trust issues and while they have been seen together many times since their last split, insiders insist there is no hope for a reconciliation.
"'It's been a year now. We've moved on,'" Gomez was quoted as telling friends with a source explaining "Selena's definitely happy she isn't with Justin anymore."
Sources claim the "Come & Get it" singer decided firmly against a reconciliation in November, after witnessing Bieber's troubling behavior. The "Heartbreaker" singer was recently in Brazil as part of his Believe world tour and it was there that he found himself mired in controversy.
"His recent behavior breaks her heart because she knows he's better than that. He's acting out and she just doesn't understand why, but she can't save him or fix him," a source told HollywoodLife.com.
On Nov. 7 a young woman, identified by gossip sites as Tatiana Neves Barbosa, filmed an unsuspecting Bieber sleeping in his Brazilian villa. The video immediately went viral and fans continue to speculate how exactly Neves gained access to Bieber's room.
Prior to the leaked video, Bieber was accused of visiting a brothel, however, these reports remain unconfirmed. He was also charged with vandalism after a spray-painting graffiti session.
"Selena feels embarrassed for Justin. She's just glad she's not part of the whole drama," the source continued. "She feels like if she was still with him, none of this bad behavior stuff would be happening or at least it wouldn't be as bad as it is."
