Selena Gomez Reunion With Justin Bieber 'Vehemently' Opposed by Parents

Selena Gomez's reunion with Justin Bieber may have made them happy, but apparently did not make her parents very happy at all. In fact, the Gomez family is reportedly "vehemently" opposed to the reunion.

"It's definitely against her parents' wishes," a source told Radar Online. "But they don't have any control over her. She's pulling the 'Who makes the money around here?' card! It's a [expletive] show behind the scenes."

The breakup between Gomez and Bieber reportedly had a serious effect on Gomez, leading her to seek solace in rehab and time away from the spotlight. Now, though, Gomez is reportedly doing well, and her parents want to see her stay that way, even if it means keeping her away from Bieber.

"Her friends and family became increasingly worried that there might be a serious problem with Selena," another source added. "Particularly, her parents. The partying was, at times, wild. They wanted to help her – and they very much encouraged her to go to rehab. Others very close to her also urged her to seek professional help."

Gomez spent time in rehab before checking out on her own accord in order to get back to her life. She reunited with Bieber and spent breakfast together in Texas. Then they spent dinner at Don Pepe's Restaurant in McAllen, where the restaurant manager confirmed their attendance.

"They were kissing," owner Lori Johnson said. "They were sitting next to each other hugging and kissing in front of the staff. They weren't hiding it and seemed to be boyfriend and girlfriend."

Even though Gomez's family is not pleased that she is seeing Bieber again, they are "allowing it" but making certain that the two are never truly alone.

"They're doing their best to supervise them," the source added. "They're tolerating it as long as they know that there is someone who has eyes on them all the time."
