Selena Gomez Talks Lesson Learned From Justin Bieber Relationship

Selena Gomez , the 21-year-old actress and singer, is revealing what she has learned from dating singer Justin Bieber on-and-off for two years.

"I was 18 when we started to date. I don't know. You just have to be an 18-year-old and go through everything," she said during an E! special hosted by Ryan Seacrest. "I learned that I should definitely be way more private next time."

Gomez admitted to Seacrest that she is single and revealed that dating an entertainer is far from easy.

"It's hard to just date in this industry," Gomez told Seacrest recently. "You can't really help who you date."

After breaking their romantic union at the beginning of the year, Gomez spoke about how that affected her.

"I'm sure you could actually see those pictures of me being, like, way stressed out about it," she said in the E! special. "And it's hard, because what do you do? Do you just wanna sit in your house and hide and not go anywhere?"

Bieber let it be known that he is trying to work on a friendship with his ex-girlfriend.

"As long as people are kind to each other during a breakup, there is no reason they can't be friends," the singer told Us Weekly recently.

Gomez spoke about breaking up with Bieber last month.

"It's uncomfortable that everywhere I go, people know. I don't like that," Gomez told In Style magazine last month. "But Justin and I never really focused on the attention. You can't help who you date. So I wouldn't swear off that or say that's what I want again."

Still, Gomez insisted on feeling good being single.

"I'm okay with being content right now," Gomez recently told Seacrest. "I think that's what I'm happy with."
