Selena Gomez was forced to attend an emergency room in Los Angeles on Monday. The singer and actress was seen leaving the hospital emergency room area after seeking treatment, reports have confirmed.

However, it appears as though Gomez's condition was nothing too serious for fans to worry about, and at this point was just a check up. A source has said that Gomez attended the emergency room simply to receive a strep throat test, according to the Examiner.

The 20 year old had apparently been in a recording session where she had felt uncomfortable and wanted to get things checked out right away. An insider has said that "her throat was bothering her," according to the publication.

"Also, her stepfather has had bronchitis so she wanted to be extra careful to make sure she wasn't getting it, too," the source has said.

Selena has had a tough few weeks and reports broke recently saying that she had split up from boyfriend and pop star Justin Bieber. The news has seemingly been a strain to both of them, and at the weekend numerous reports were out about a potential reconciliation between the pair.

However, in one report the pair apparently met up for a dinner date only for them to get into an argument before they had even gotten to first course. The fight sparked Selena to storm out of the restaurant.

Justin Bieber was later seen trying to visit Gomez's home but was not allowed in through the gates.

However, further reports showed the paid holding hands at the American Music Awards on Sunday night, sparking rumors of the pair getting back together and resolving their issues.

It is unknown whether the stress of recent events was the cause of Selena's ill health, but fans can rest assured that the singer's trip to the emergency room was not something too serious.
