On the other hand, the Catalans are second and only one point behind leaders Villarreal. Barcelona are also trying to hold off Real Madrid and Celta de Vigo who are only one point behind them.

Sevilla recently broke their five match winless run with a 3-2 win over Rayo Vallecano at home.

Before the win, they suffered defeats to teams like Atletico Madrid, Celta de Vigo and Las Palmas so the win over Rayo was a great thing for them.

Kevin Gameiro, Steven N'Zonzi and Evgeni Konoplyanka found the back of the net to help Sevilla get the needed victory.

Meanwhile, Barcelona bounced back after suffering their first loss of the season against Celta de Vigo.

After their 4-1 loss, they faced Las Palmas at home and won 2-1 behind a brace from Luis Suarez.

It was a big game for the Uruguayan as he had to carry the scoring load as they are playing without their best player Lionel Messi who is out due to a knee injury.

However, they still have one of the best teams in the world with stars like Neymar who constantly threaten defences and solid midfielders like Ivan Rakitic.

Their head-to-head match-ups also favour the defending champions as they have won 10 of their last 12 meetings with the other two ending in draws.

They last met in the UEFA Super Cup where Barcelona won via extra period to lift the title.
