Sienna Miller on Work: 'I've Burnt Bridges' Because of Public Affair

Actress Sienna Miller is busy with wedding planning, a new baby, and several film projects lined up, but Miller is also busy reconciling her past with her present. She admitted having made a mistake with her affair with Balthazar Getty, who is married and has four children.

"I sabotaged things," Miller told "Esquire" and "I burnt a lot of bridges. What was going on in my private life was not an easy thing to read about. People don't want to see films with people they don't approve of in them. I felt like I had no control over any aspect of my life, professionally or personally. So I deliberately disappeared. I was so sick of myself, to be honest, or sick of that perception of me. It all felt so [expletive] dirty."

After the affair ended, Miller realized that she wanted to reconcile with ex-fiancé Jude Law.

"I had to reconcile with him," she explained. The relationship "was a huge part of my life and his life and it ended in a way that was awful. When something ends in a way like that, it's important if you can, in a way, go back and revisit it and either shut the door or create a new room. So it was a very healthy, cathartic experience."

The couple had had their share of infidelity. They were engaged in 2004, and one year later, Law confessed to cheating on Miller with the nanny of his children. They formally separated in 2006, which is when Miller began her affair with Getty. In 2009, Law and Miller reconciled but separated again in 2011. Since then, Miller has been dating Tom Sturridge and the two are engaged and have an 18-month-old daughter, Marlowe Ottoline Layng.

"I feel really settled," Miller said of her new life. "I have a wonderful life. I'm up every morning with a little baby. That gives you incredible perspective.
