Singer Chely Wright and her wife Lauren Blitzer-Wright are expecting twins. The announcement came through an online episode of the show "Gwissues," with both women saying they have been blessed and are excited about the arrival of two new babies.

"We feel like God blessed us with twins," Wright told host Howard Bragman. "We feel our entire relationship has been blessed. We feel lucky and ready to take on the challenges. We are anticipating that I will be as big as a bus or an A-frame house or by around June," she added.

"It's been an adventure and an education," Blitzer chimed in. "We apparently needed to have twins," even though the couple tried not to have twins."

Wright and Blitzer married in 2011, after Wright announced she was homosexual in 2010. The couple had a bit of an unusual ceremony since Wright is Christian and Blitzer is Jewish; both a reverend and rabbi presided over the ceremony, People magazine reported.

Wright has been in the country music industry since 1994 and earned the Academy of Country Music's "Top New Female Vocalist" award in 1995. Her hit, "Shut Up and Drive" debuted in 1997 and solidified her presence in the industry. In 1999, her hit, "Single White Female" reached number one on the billboards.

Overall, she has sold over 1,000,000 copies of her albums, which is a feat for any music superstar, according to Billboard.

The twins, who are identical, are due in July.
