'Sleepy Hollow' Season 3 Spoilers, Plot News: Show Runner Confirms New Villain

The avid followers of Fox's hit supernatural drama TV series "Sleepy Hollow" will find the Season 3 cast member lineup and plotlines a bit more different than the previous seasons.

The new executive producer, Clifton Campbell, broke the news by saying that there will be some big changes in the upcoming installment.

"There won't be any Headless this year," the showrunner told TV Guide. "But we have a new framework and a new set of rules for the mythology. And it all starts with the introduction of our new big bad and will take us into a very interesting device which will allow us to see a somewhat more compelling, but more personal threat to both Abbie (Nicole Beharie) and Crane (Tom Mison)."

To compensate for the diminishing show players, TV Guide said that Season 3 will see the return of the fan-favorite Joe Corbin (Zach Appelman). The character in question will be working closely with Jenny (Lyndie Greenwood) in "fighting the apocalypse and uncovering the mysteries within their own shared history."

"Jenny and Joe are going to track down a lot of things that are going to help Abbie and Crane, and in doing so really do a deep dive on their past and their connections to each other," Campbell continued. "It allows Jenny and Joe to be more operative and on their feet in their support and help of Abbie and Crane and fills out the gang in a much more interesting, emotional way."

Aside from Appelman, "Sleepy Hollow" Season 3 will also see the participation of "Wayward Pines" alum Shannyn Sossamon and "Twilight" star Nikki Reed as Betsy Ross.
