The victim of the "Slender Man" stabbing is recovering and able to walk after being stabbed 19 times by friends in an apparent murder attempt. Her family has finally spoken out about the ordeal, calling their little girl "a fighter."

She "is improving each and every day," her parents said on Thursday. "We appreciate your patience, love and support, as we too are stunned and saddened by this tragedy. We thank you for keeping our family in your prayers during this difficult time."

The 12-year-old was led into the woods and stabbed 19 friends by two other 12-year-olds hoping to enter the realm of the fictional character, the "Slender Man." As it turns out, the two girls had planned the murder for quite some time – they finally decided on stabbing after contemplating stabbing her while she slept and possibly in the bathroom, where there would be a drain for all the blood.

Morgan Geyser and Anissa Weier have been arrested and charged as adults for the attempted premeditated murder of their victim.

"Weier talked about the planning stages of the incident and said every now and then she and Geyser would whisper about the plan to kill (the victim) when they were on the bus. She stated they talked about living in the woods and what they would need to defeat animals. They also discussed but whispered about killing (the victim) because they didn't want people to hear them because they would go to prison if they ever found out," the official police report states.

"Geyser stated after they were at the bathroom they went by some trees by the dead end and then, 'stabby, stab, stab,'" the report continued.

Geyser and Weier left their victim for dead and made their way back home. The victim, however, managed to crawl to a nearby street and was found by a cyclist. He called authorities, who rushed the young girl to the local hospital, where she is expected to make a full recovery.
