Snapchat News and Updates: Where to Find Jeff Koons' Artwork as Augmented Reality Pins

Considering that Facebook has been working hard to make their own streaming services, other social media companies are working hard to catch up with modern day technology and the ever-changing demands of the consumers.

Recent reports have revealed that Snapchat has been attempting to integrate augmented reality into their applications, and that was supposed to announce the new feature during an event on Tuesday. Unfortunately for the company, tech-savvy fans figured out how to unlock the announcement on their own.

According to reports, Snapchat employees attempted to incite a hype over the augmented reality update earlier this week, when employees began tweeting a web page (art.snapchat.com). When fans clicked on the URL, the page revealed a countdown that was set for 3 p.m. EDT last Oct. 3.

Although most of the fans were willing to wait, some were able to figure out a hack that would reveal the content of the announcement ahead of time. By configuring their PC's time and date to fast forward to the end of the countdown, Snapchat's webpage revealed their latest attempt of integrating augmented reality into devices.

The new augmented reality support features pop artist Jeff Koons and more. Overall, fans will be able to pin artworks in specific locations. They will have to angle their phone to the right spot in order to see the pin. Furthermore, Snapchat also plans on getting more artists on board as the aforementioned webpage also had a link that asked those who would like to submit their work to sign up for the program.

Koons' artwork can be pinned on Snapchat in the following locations: Champ de Mars in Paris, France, Central Park in New York, New York, Hyde Park in London, England, Roundhouse Park in Toronto, Canada, Sydney Opera House in Sydney, Australia, Millennium Park in Chicago, Illinois, Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, National Mall in Washington, DC, and Venice Broadwalk in Venice, California.
