Sneak Peek Continues for ‘Hidden Secrets’

The first day of a two-day sneak peek began yesterday with the showing of a new Christian film about faith and forgiveness.

Hidden Secrets, a movie where “your past meets your present,” will continue with its preview showing tonight hitting major cities including Atlanta, Los Angeles, Orlando, Philadelphia, Dallas, Houston, Denver, Phoenix, Nashville and Washington. The film comes at a time when Christian films are beginning to appear more readily on the big screen, showing a growing market in the Christian genre.

“We recognize the high demand for Christian entertainment, and this Hidden Secrets premiere event is a step toward addressing this growing audience,” said Tom Galley, executive vice president of National CineMedia, in a statement. “We’re very pleased and proud to have the opportunity … to bring special faith-based entertainment to people in cities across the country.”

The movie focuses on the life of a young man named Jimmy who returns home for his best friend’s funeral. While at home, he is forced to face his past, consisting of an embarrassing change from local youth pastor to college partier. While dealing with other issues, he comes to his own realization and need for mercy and forgiveness, no matter how far he’s fallen from the Lord.

The film also deals with controversial issues such as abortion, homosexuality, and premarital sex, as well as the true meaning of faith.

“Hidden Secrets is a movie for everyone … who needs forgiveness,” said Tom Saab, president of Christian Film Festivals of America, in a review. “That means it’s a movie for everyone!”

The cast is filled with many notable stars including John Schneider from the acclaimed Smallville television series, Tracy Melchior from the soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful, and Christian recording artist Rachel Lampa.

The movie also includes music from Lampa as well as Dove-award winners Building 429.

Hidden Secrets will be shown in 213 select movie theatres including Regal, United Artists, Edwards, AMC, Cinemark and Georgia Theatre Company cinemas. The start time is at 7:00 p.m., locally.

The film is the debut title for Pure Flix Entertainment and National CineMedia (NCM) Fathom production companies.
