Soleil Moon Frye Talks About New Book and Hot Tubbing With Michael Jackson

Soleil Moon Frye, better known as Punky Brewster, has written a book entitled “Happy Chaos: From Punky to Parenting and My Perfectly Imperfect Adventures in Between,” where she delves into the art of parenting to discuss both the challenges and triumphs of being a parent.

Frye’s book, which comes out today, offers “in the trenches” parenting advice that critics are calling “inspirational” and “fun.”

Frye has two children of her own and used the book to discuss not only the happy chaos of parenting but also how playing the zestful, spunky, and honest youngster, Punky Brewster, helped her grow into the adult that she has become.

The avant-garde parenting book, which Frye describes as "honest and authentic," is garnering much attention for the information it reveals on Soleil’s unconventional childhood, and for the details she shares about her experiences as a young actress.

Soleil reveals how she hung out with Michael Jackson when she was just 8-years-old.

Frye spoke to Anne Curry on the Today Show about the new book and spoke about the Michael Jackson encounter saying, “It was such a fun, crazy experience, and I didn’t realize how strange it was then, but years later I was like ‘Ok that was a little bit of a unique experience.’

Frye continued to discuss with Curry her reasoning behind writing her book arguing that parenting advice always seemed so "perfect" and unattainable.

She told Curry, “For me if was so important to embrace the craziness, to embrace the chaos.”

She added, “I think we need to give ourselves a little freedom and cut ourselves a little slack and just do the best we can do.”

Soleil Moon Frye is an actress, screenwriter, and director that has also become an entrepreneur. She is co–owner of an environmentally conscious children’s clothing line called the Little Seed and is a social media favorite with her parenting blog.

She has 1.4 million followers on Twitter.
